The Hub, North’s Small Business Summer Series is comprised of 4 in-person workshops (one each month, June through September). The series will follow the NORTHBOUND: 7 STEP FRAMEWORK TO GO FROM IDEA TO LAUNCH as our overarching theme, with each session covering specific business tools, strategies and resources that you can implement immediately.

Sessions 1: We'll dig into the Northbound framework, build your Summer Focus Plan, start to identify your social media focus, and get your hands on some new AI tools. You'll leave with a real plan and a real community.
Session 2: This is the session that will change how you think about showing up online. We’ll figure out which social media channels you can focus on and which ones you can skip, depending on your business. Then, we’ll create content together in the room, and walk through CapCut so you can make great short video without the anxiety that comes with it!
Session 3: The session everyone needs and nobody talks about enough. We'll work through pricing confidence, introduce the Profit First framework (a personal favorite of mine!), and use AI to simplify one workflow in your business that's been draining your time and energy! Get ready: we’ll be thinking BIG!
Session 4: 🎉 The Party! We'll recap your summer, share what worked and what didn’t this summer, run a full Northbound debrief, and look ahead to fall with clarity and momentum. Then we’ll CELEBRATE a summer well spent alongside friends!

While The Hub, North will support any and all small businesses, this workshop series probably isn’t for you if:
You're looking for a passive learning experience - every session requires you to show up and participate
You want someone to do it all for you. This is a "do it together" experience, not done-for-you
You're not in (or near) Ashtabula County, OH. These are in-person sessions and the local community is part of the secret sauce!
You are a complainer. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but this is a supportive and positive community. While struggles are real and we will support you in any way, if you’re a chronic negative-Nelson, we ask that you stay home and save the drama for your llama 🦙.
There’s something about being in a room with other likeminded entrepreneurs that can completely change the way you think about business. The energy, the shared ideas, the nods of understanding when you share your wins and struggles - knowing that another human has been there before, and you’re not crazy.

Explore the Profit First method, group discussion on pricing confidence and positioning, learn about resources your business can use TODAY. Ask all of the dumb, weird and I feel like I should know this questions about “money stuff” for your business.

Honestly? I get it. The summer season is jam-packed.
Four sessions over four months is not a huge course with deadlines and homework. It’s a few intentional hours every few weeks surrounded by a supportive group of business owners.
This isn’t meant to be an addition to your busy summer, it’s what makes the busy summer actually count!

This workshop series is hands-on. We will work with each other and bounce ideas off one another.
While I would love to invite as many entrepreneurs as possible, any more than 20 would start to feel overwhelming… for everyone!

Hi, I’m Sam 👋🏻
A quick story: I used to be terrified of “business people”. I don’t know if there’s a name for it, but if there is such a condition, I had it.. bad. One horrible networking event in 2017 left me feeling under-qualified, out of place and down right stupid. I left that event and told my husband “I will never be doing that again!”. And I didn’t.. for years. I had so many questions about my business and I couldn’t bring myself to ask anyone, so I just figured it out on my own. And it worked! Sort of…
Our retail business had me talking to other business owners casually over the counter, and slowly I realized: everyone feels the exact same way. We have no idea what we’re supposed to be doing, we’re making mistakes and learning from them, we’re in it together.
My goal for The Hub, North is to provide the resources small business owners are looking for, but may be too afraid to ask and to provide community so that no entrepreneur ever has to feel the fear that I did.
Basically, every single product I create, resource I provide and conversation I have is one that I personally need.
Community is the missing cornerstone to Small Business Success!
