The Hub North Community Is Here ⭐️ And It's Not Your Average Business Group
The Hub, North: Community-Based Growth for Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs. It’s right there in the name, Community-Based Growth.
When my husband and I opened our retail store in 2016, I’d just left my 12 year job as “Clinical Coordinator” at an orthodontist’s office. I had zero business education. Zero experience in retail. Zero clue how people actually “did business”. But when I went to a networking event that scared the pants off of me, I declared “I’ll just figure it out myself!”. And I did, mostly. Truth be told, I’m still figuring it out every single day. But it wasn’t until I actually talked to other business owners and was able to bounce some ideas around that the ball finally started to really roll. The reason I waited so long? I felt stupid. I felt under qualified and judged when I had questions that were seemingly obvious.
Let’s be real: building a business can be lonely as hell.
Your friends don’t totally get it. Your family thinks you “work for yourself so you can take naps after Scrooge McDuck-ing it in your pool of money.” And meanwhile, you’re over there wearing mis-matched socks, keeping the dream alive and the bills paid (or not paid). You don’t know who to talk to because you feel like you should just know how to do all of the things.
That’s exactly why I built The Hub North Community. A space for small business owners who are done doing it alone.
Why I Created This Space
The truth? I got tired of watching good people burn out trying to figure it all out in silence. Myself included.
I wanted a space where we could be real about the wins and the shitstorms.
A place where someone says, “I totally get that,” instead of “Have you tried being more positive?”
Because listen: you don’t need another motivational quote.
You need people who’ll help you take action and actually move the needle.
That’s what we do here.
What You’ll Find Inside
This isn’t another “rah-rah” group that makes you feel behind. It’s small business reality - with humor, honesty, and community baked in.
Here are the spaces inside The Hub, North Community
🔥 Take Action
→ Post what you’re working on. Get accountability, celebrate progress (or lack of), and find your momentum again.
💰 Money Talk
→ The conversations everyone avoids: pricing, profit, taxes, and those “should I charge more?” moments. Let’s talk about it! No judgement here.
🎨 Branding + Visibility
→ Share marketing ideas, Canva tactics, visibility questions, and get eyes on your brand. Let’s support each other!
🏆 Community Wins
→ Big or small - Brag about it!
Finished your website? First customer? Took a well-deserved day off (talking to myself here)? It counts.
Who It’s For
This space is for the real ones.
The entrepreneurs who need a Small Business friend.
If you’ve ever said, “I just wish I had people who get it,”
congrats, friend, you’ve found them.
You don’t need to have it all together. You just have to show up.
🖕🏻Who It’s not For
Negative-Nancy’s, crybabies or whiners. While we’re friendly and casual, we aren’t victims. We’re here to get shit DONE. If the world is against you and you want to complain about it, this isn’t the group for you.
This group is also not for MLM sales pitches for $5,000 dog sunglasses. Stop by, post some photos, then let’s kindly part ways. We support each other, and each other’s businesses, but this isn’t the place for constant sales hounding.

A final thought
Why the fee? Why charge for a community who should be welcoming as many awesome entrepreneurs as possible? Because we want to make sure there are real people contributing, and trolls are usually cheapskates 🤷🏼♀️. If the fee is a serious issue for you, please reach out to me and I’ll see what we can do to help.
